A new writer can get a lot of mileage out of this idea: "Find a few writers and writing styles you like and study them" Examples of good, if not great writing, are damned important to experience: not to outright copy or steal from, but to broaden one's horizons. Put your jealousy to constructive use!

I’m not a writer: I’m a programmer. So much of your article applies to other kinds of creative endeavours (or at least to programming). Keeping a consistent time of day, avoiding distractions, relying on others. Great stuff.
